Beautiful Frames

This photo doesn't do them justice. They are animal prints from London. At first I thought I might just reuse the frames. Double matted and nice silver wood frames for $4.00 a piece. I brought them home and they are perfect in my study. My zebra rug, the animal theme, and now these prints. The room looks great. All for $8.00!

Ok, I decided to post these to Craigslist. I'll let you all know when they sell. If you are interested hurry to craigslist. They really are beautiful and mint condition. Great for an office just in time for Christmas!

Treasure wrapped!

This beautiful wall piece was $3.00! Yes, I may just have to wrap it up. Would you mind if you opened it on Christmas day? Shabby Chic

There are some memories in this photo! Once again this is Ali's town home. She's my oldest daughter. We collected the platter's all over town for a "song". They make quite a statement on that little wall. Two more panels at the window purchased same time as the others.
She found the Chandelier on Durant Rd. and we painted it black one night, her vision! It had to be rewired since it was from the UK.
Her breakfast set she found on Craigslist. The rug I found at GW. She's so happy w/ the look and I cherish the memories

Antique plates and GW curtains!

This lovely shot is the corner of Ali's sweet town home. She's got an eye for shabby chic. She found her corner cupboard at "beggars thieves" near 64. I found the antique wedgewood plates marked "As Is" (small chips) for $1.99 a piece. The curtains, 4 floor length panels, for $3.49 a piece. We have had such fun fixing up her place. It's truely amazing and each addition a new story and memory. Last year she photographed them all and framed them in a shadow box. She gave it to me for Christmas! That was a touching gift from the heart!

The crowds are out!

Kat and I did a quick tour of our favorites today. She grabed a pair of Express slacks for work $3.65.College kids do love the prices and the hunt. She does know the labels!
I found a Dana Buchman jacket for $12.00.It was beautiful but "dreamsicle" orange. That's not my color.
Next time I find a "beauty" like that I'll just buy it,post it and you can come get it!
Deals are still better than Black Friday and not nearly the crowds!

Craigslist of course!

I love my new porch furniture. Ernie Baker built me the greatest deck a few years back. It's so large it's been tough thinking about what it would cost to buy furniture. There it was on Craigslist! I was the first to respond and paid $125. for 5 pieces of wrought iron furniture. I'm thrilled and can hardly wait till Spring. Thanks to Lant and Brenda who own a Truck.

The 5th piece reclines and matches the set! I love the gun metal grey color.
I must get better w/ my tech. skills! I was at GW this weekend and found a cute little upholistered BR chair. It was light green and great condition for $22.
I thought later how nice it would be to take a photo w/ my blackberry and post it. Maybe someone could would call me and ask me to grab it. ...sorry!

Insiderers Tip

The GW on New Market in Raleigh is pretty special. It's a large store w/ plenty of floor space. The GW pick up and delivery service delivers most of the large furniture pieces to that store.
I purchased an round oak table for $14.99. I thought maybe my girls would like it. They weren't interested. I took a photo and posted it on Craigslist. SOLD for $150.00!

The $3.00 bin for fun!

Many of you wondered; Does she go everyday? No!
Today I'm working from home. I'm behind on my Bible Study and the class is tonight.
FYI try sorting through a bin once in awhile. They are a mess but might just contain a treasure. I found this in a bin for $3.00. I'm sure most GW shoppers have never been to Celine's in Paris but I have. I'm a retired Flight Attendant and yrs. ago traveled there weekly. A celine scarf...silk of course! I'm sure the retail price would be over $300. or more. The ebay price for a second hand Celine scarf, $99.00 I goggled it that very day!

Old Friends

Yeah, my first follower! I'm still struggling to figure out why this doesn't come up in a search.

I ran through my neighborhood GW today and met up w/ an old friend from Bayleaf. Jane and I caught up on kids and thrift stories. I told her about my numbered lithograph. The engraver died in 1904. It's such a special treasure from Scotland, entitled "The Hunt". How perfect for ME! My eyes couldn't believe the certificate of authenticity on the back, numbered 17 out of 170. I had NO PROBLEM paying $9.99! It's hanging in my living room. I'm sorry my phtograph doesn't do it justice. Good to see you Jane.

The chair redo.

OK, it was a quick trip to drop off some things at GW. When you love thrifting, like I do, you have to weed things out pretty often. I was standing in the donation area when someone came in w/ 2 chairs.I had to have them. I had a vision for the redo. I waited till they priced them,$14.99 a piece. Here they are before and after! They look great painted w/ an animal print fabric.

Passionate Thrifter

Another day, another run through GW. What a find! Isn't it exciting? I love the hunt, don't you? This is a beautiful crystal piece from Poland for $22.00
Can't decide to keep it or give it away!
